If you’ve somehow been sleeping through the past few months, you might have missed the fact that Malaysians are currently deep in a tiramisu phase… craze? Craze phase? The point is, we are going ga-ga for tiramisu in all its forms.
So it was only a matter of time before some enterprising café owner decided to take things further. The result? Tiramiss U in Sri Petaling, a spot dedicated entirely to experimenting with the classic Italian dessert, and the outcome has been nothing short of delightful.
A café with over 30 tiramisu types
Opened earlier this year, Tiramiss U claims to be the only café in Malaysia serving over 30 varieties of tiramisu. That’s a bold statement, so we went to find out if it lives up to the hype—and yes, to conduct the all-important taste test.
The café itself is compact, with limited seating that makes it better suited for solo visits or small groups. Its whitewashed walls and wooden panelling create a cosy, minimalist setting that feels immediately welcoming.
But we’re not here for the wall and panels. The real showstopper is the display case filled with rows of tiramisu in every imaginable colour and flavour, tempting you from the moment you walk in.
Fresh cakes made daily
According to the staff, the owners are self-professed tiramisu fanatics who wanted to reimagine the dessert through both classic and Asian-inspired flavours. All their tiramisus are made fresh daily, with nothing kept overnight. The menu rotates daily, so you never know what will be available whenever you visit.
As much as we wanted to try the whole selection, that wasn’t exactly feasible. So we took the staff’s recommendation and sampled six types of tiramisu, each with their own character and charm.
Tiramisu + Pistachio = Perfection

First up was the Pistachio Kaw (RM21). With pistachio desserts trending everywhere lately, it seemed fitting to start here. One bite in, and we were convinced. Nutty, creamy, and unmistakably made with real pistachios, it’s a dessert that truly does justice to its name. Pistachio fans, you will eat your heart out with this little piece of sin.
Can’t go wrong with chocolate

Dubai Chocolate (RM28) was up next, an adorable piece topped with “chocolate soil” and tiny edible foliage. Using our spoons like shovels, we dug in to discover a rich, bittersweet centre with a pleasant crunch. Textural contrast in desserts is always a win, and this one nailed it.
One for the milk tea lovers

If you’re the kind of person who can’t go a day without milk tea, the Premium Jasmine Milk Tea (RM20) should be on your radar. A consistent bestseller, this tiramisu translates the familiar drink into cake form and it works. The jasmine aroma builds slowly, leaving a floral finish that lingers long after your bite.
Some salt to beat the Monday blues

A social media favourite, the Sea Salt Oreo (RM19) stands out with its striking blue hue. The crunchy grains of sea salt balance the sweet chocolate and vanilla creaminess of Oreo perfectly. The metaphorical cherry on top was definitely the bouncy blue jelly crowning the cake.
Your needed caffeine boost in a cake

The Perlamisu (RM16) breaks the mould with its spherical shape. Served with a shot of espresso poured over, it’s ideal for anyone craving caffeine and sugar in one go. Rich, creamy, and energising, this one’s your dessert-meets-pick-me-up.
Palate-cleansing pandan

After five decadent cakes, the Pandan Taro Misu (RM22) offered a refreshing change of pace. Its subtle sweetness, soft coconut notes, and earthy taro undertones made it the perfect palate cleanser to end our tasting session on a gentle, satisfying note.
So if you’re a diehard tiramisu fan, it’s time to add Tiramiss U to your must-visit list. And if you need an extra reason, there’s currently a “Buy 4, Free 1” promotion running, so feel free to stock up on guilty pleasures when you inevitably drop by.
