The environment
With the hotel located within Ipoh’s mountains and tucked away right next to a massive rocky hill, Rocky Farm is not your typical city hotel. Secluded from the public eye and surrounded by lush greenery, the ambiance of the locale is breathtaking.
There’s a gorgeous pond that’s suitable for leisurely strolls, flanked by the massive rocky hillside that’s a serious photo opportunity. Also surrounding the hotels are gazebos and areas where you can luxuriate in nature whilst enjoying the calming view.

The scenic location can be credited to the retired couple who own and run Rocky Farm. Choosing it so that they may travel all whilst retiring by a peaceful hillside.
Themed villas
Housing here is a special affair, patrons have three choices of what theme they wish to opt for during their stay.
Most notable, are their Japanese houses. They’re inspired by Japanese ryokan, traditional Japanese inns fitted with tatami mats and the like. These houses are furnished with modern fittings on the inside, like TVs, while still maintaining that traditional air to them. Due to the mostly wooden architecture, there’s a serene and almost natural vibe to it.
Surrounded by these Japanese villas is a Japanese-inspired garden with billowing trees that really add to the Eastern influences of the whole area.

Also at Rocky Farm is the adorably unique Little Mermaid House. Inspired by Mexico’s Seashell Houses, the room is fitted with a quirky seashell rooftop.
At Rocky Farm, they offer the opportunity to stay within this Little Mermaid House with a minimalistic room fitted with all the amenities anyone would need, alongside a separate kitchen located in an equally seashell-shaped building.
And last, but not least, are the European-style villas. Fashioned after classical European castles, these rooms are fuss-free and homey. The brick walls really emphasise the inspiration that the rooms take after, and the decor is simplistic and reminiscent of cottage living.

Activities and amenities
Rocky Farm comes with a smorgasbord of activities to engage in during your stay. Partake in a bit of fishing by the hillside pond. Or go for a refreshing hike in the nearby forest.
Amenities at Rocky Farm include free parking and a fully furnished bathroom complete with toiletries and other necessities. Also included (for selected rooms) are air-conditioning, blackout curtains, and linen services. You can also grill up a storm at the designated barbeque pit!

The owners are quite firm on safety and security within their small sanctuary. This means that all patrons are required to book a room before they enter. Rooms range anywhere from RM168 to RM350.
With how gorgeous the locale is, excited photographers and event hosts who wish to use the site will be pleased to know that the owners are more than welcoming to it, just be sure to inform them first.
