Discreetly located in Damansara Kim is an industrial restaurant and speakeasy bar called Locker and Loft! This place is by no means new, but it is definitely underrated.
Where is it?
Conveniently located in a shop-lot, you won’t have to worry about parking, as there is plenty of street parking available by the time this bar opens at 5pm. Once you’ve walked up the flight of stairs at the ground floor entrance, keep your eye out for a big block of beat-up lockers, slide it open, and you’ll find this restaurant and speakeasy bar, Locker and Loft, just behind that.
Stepping into this loft-like space, you’ll find a stripped back, steampunk-rustic interior with exposed piping and an impressive copper bar. They have indoor and outdoor seating with dim lighting that doesn’t overwhelm you and instead, sets the tone for the night. You can choose to have drinks and bites at the bar, and later move to a table for your main course.

Cocktails with a twist!
The drink menu in this establishment is extensive, with a range of gins, vodkas, wines, rums, and whiskeys. They’ve also kicked things up a notch with their cocktail craft by incorporating local and Asian components. You will find them using flavoured ice cubes, global spices, smoked elements, and botanical elements to spice up their cocktails.

To take things one step further, they have perfected the art of cocktail garnishing, presenting you with visually stunning cocktails that are Instagram-worthy. Their trade secrets include using colour, flavour, and edible flowers. Their menu features a Tapas section that is perfect for sharing, with a whopping 10 options to choose from! Their four-legged platter (RM58) is the ultimate choice for meat lovers looking for a quick bite to pair with their drinks. This dish is a mixed platter serving up grilled Australian rib-eye beef, lamb chops, and pork, all skewed ala yakitori. Their Tapas selection offers vegetarian options as well. Those drinking wine can opt for either one of their charcuterie boards, a great way to sample an assortment of artisan cheeses, dried fruits, nuts, or cold cuts, the perfect side to your drink of choice.

Besides their appetisers and Tapas, they also have sliders, tacos, pastas, burgers, and meaty main courses! Wow, what don’t they have? Their lamb taco comes together with a juicy minced lamb patty that is blanketed by a generous serving of English curry sauce and wrapped in your choice of soft or hard shell tortilla bread, before being topped with crunchy salsa, shredded green and red corals, and grated mozzarella – served in a set of two tacos at only RM24! What a steal!
They also have more Asian-heavy inspired dishes like their Creamy Tom Yum pasta, which you can opt to have with seafood (RM38) or as a vegetarian dish (RM28), or go for their Nasi Goreng Haram (RM29); a wok-fried, kampung-style fried rice packed with kangkung, egg, lap cheong, and bacon. A guaranteed bowl of greasy goodness. You can expect punchy Asian fusion flavours from their food, as everything is marinated with a generous amount of herbs and spices to cater to local palates, so you will not be disappointed!
