Those keeping up with the F&B scene may notice that many new establishments have leaned into the theme of nature in their interior design. Be it flowers, lemon trees, or even animals. Ekues Cabin Cafe didn’t really have to try very hard in this aspect.
A simple glasshouse cafe that just happens to be situated right next to Equestrian Park Putrajaya. Free-running horses and coffee in a Putrajaya park never sounded more healing.
A place to horse around
This locale is a pretty one and conveniently placed right in front of the compound where you can watch riders on horseback.
For those who want to get up close and personal, you will be pleased to know that the horse stables are open to the public!

Adults may ride the horses around the stables and children will be able to enjoy a short ride with adult supervision.
For those who want to actually learn how to horse-ride, classes are provided by Equestrian Park Putrajaya. Do note that the package fees depend on each individual’s skill level.
Bites while enjoying the view of the horses
Imagine spending a relaxed afternoon out and then having to pay RM40 for a plate of subpar pasta. Fortunately, that’s not the case at Ekues Cabin Cafe. Dishes are not only reasonably priced, but worth the money you pay for them as well.

A standout dish here at Ekues Cabin Cafe is without a doubt their Pony Sweet French Toast (RM16). Smooth peanut butter spread over crispy French Toast, with a drizzle of honey atop fresh berries. Heaven on a fork.
A savoury option would then be the Spicy Stack Toast (RM17). The eggs are perfectly runny and fluffy. And what’s more, the chilli crunch on top is just so addictive. The addition of avocado and tomato underneath also grant a touch of freshness that balances out the plate.
Something beefy and buttery? The Croissant Beef Strips (RM19.50) is a flakey mess in the best way possible. Those beef strips are marinated and served with a heaping portion of caramelised onions, sweet and salty all in one bite.
The Big Stallion Breakfast (RM27) feature toasted sourdough bread, fluffy scrambled eggs, grilled shiitake mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, fried potatoes, sausages, salad, and even stewed lamb.

But the highlight here would be the Nasi Padang Polo (RM17). Not only is it an affordable option, it’s got all the fixings. Grilled chicken that’s been marinated for ages, a comforting and warm Thai green curry gravy, sambal, veggies, and even those childhood Malaysian crackers!
Ekues Cabin Cafe has something for the kids too too. Find snacks like Kerepok Lekor (RM11.90), and Wedges with Garlic Mayo (RM11.90).
Sipping away the hours
The options for drinks at Ekues Cabin Cafe are plentiful, ranging from your standard coffee to fruity refreshers and even matcha creations.
We especially loved the Strawberry Lemonade Sparkling (RM12), which was a great and sugary way to cool down. For those who want something creamy with a strawberry note, the Strawberry Matcha (RM12) is lovely before and after you mix it.

The cold Chocolate (RM11) is lovely, with a thick texture that any chocolate fiend will appreciate. Caffeinated offerings are somewhat traditional, with some options like the Iced Hazelnut Latte (RM15) and Iced Caramel Latte (RM15).
But their classic cup of Cafe Latte (RM8) is so worth it for the price. Less than RM10 for a cup of coffee in a place like this? And, it’s perfectly aromatic and the best thing to sip at while relaxing and chatting away.
Breezy outdoors, or AC?
Though most of you may want to sit outdoors to catch a glimpse of some trotting horses, some may instead prefer the air-conditioning indoors. Don’t fret, the cafe is a glasshouse one—so regardless of where you sit, you’ll be able to enjoy the view clearly.

Sporting a small interior, the majority of the seating space lies outdoors. No matter, since you’ll want to catch a glimpse of the horses anyways. The greenery around alongside plentiful shade ensures a cooling experience as well.
