TTDI’s newest viral sensation, 3 Days Nasi Lemak, is making waves with its RM50 nasi lemak.
You might be wondering, who would pay RM50 for a dish that some stalls sell for just RM1? We were skeptical too.
But the constant crowd at this spot suggests people are curious to find out if it’s worth the price. So, we gave it a try—here’s what we discovered.
A casual but elevated mamak dining environment

Before diving into the food, let’s talk about the space at 3 Days Nasi Lemak. While it’s not your typical nasi lemak stall, the interior is simple with wooden tables, spotlight lighting, and air conditioning—so no need to worry about sweating.
Despite the crowds, the space feels open, with both indoor and outdoor seating, creating a relaxed, airy vibe.
Although the nasi lemak is pricey, don’t expect a fancy dining experience. The atmosphere is casual, more like an elevated mamak.
Parking can be a challenge, as is typical in TTDI. Finding a spot along the shop lots takes some luck. However, once you’re inside, it’s a comfortable and laid-back spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family.
First look at the RM50 nasi lemak

Now, onto the main attraction—the RM50 nasi lemak, or to be exact, RM49.
This dish, called the Nasi Lemak Sotong + Ayam Set Dulang, is meant for two people and is beautifully presented on a tray.
For RM49, the platter includes: two portions of rice, one fried chicken piece, 180 grams of fried squid, two eggs, and the usual nasi lemak sides—anchovies, sambal, cucumber, peanuts, and crackers.
At first glance, the platter looks impressive and seemingly worth the price. But does it hold up when you break down the components?
RM49 worth of hits & misses
The platter claims to serve two people, but it only includes one piece of fried chicken. For RM49, you’d expect two pieces, especially since the chicken is on the smaller side compared to other nasi lemak spots. Sharing a single small piece of chicken wasn’t the best start.
Does the fried squid save the day? Seafood is pricey, which might justify the overall cost. The 180 grams of fried squid is a decent amount, but again, split between two people, it feels like a small portion.
You get two sunny-side-up eggs, which is standard. The anchovies, peanuts, and cucumber are all there, but nothing remarkable in terms of portion size. The crackers add a nice crunch, but it almost feels like a filler to make the platter seem fuller than it is.
MFT’s Review

Portion size aside, was the RM49 nasi lemak worth it for the taste?
Unfortunately, we found it quite average and not deserving of the price.
The rice was fragrant with a strong lemak flavour, which was a plus. The sambal, though thicker and darker than usual with a slight smoky taste, didn’t impress us much.
The squid, likely the reason for the high price, didn’t live up to expectations. It was tough, chewy, and overcooked, with a batter that lacked crunch.
The chicken, small in portion, was equally disappointing in taste.
Overall, the meal felt underwhelming, especially given the high price and the surrounding hype.
That said, the nasi lemak isn’t bad—it just isn’t worth RM49. However, they do offer cheaper options. Their Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng is RM13.90, and Nasi Lemak Kosong is priced at RM6.90.
If you’re getting takeaway, there’s a RM1.50 charge—not a deal-breaker, but worth noting.
Worth the splurge?

Sadly, it’s got to be a no from us. The platter is certainly more upscale than your average nasi lemak experience, but it did not hit the spot for us.
If you find yourself in TTDI and still want to try the nasi lemak here, you might be better off ordering their normal Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng or the squid variation, instead of getting the set for two. It’s a better bang for your buck.
But if you’re curious, don’t let our experience stop you—who knows, you just might like it more than we did!
