With Sudirman and P. Ramlee classics playing over the airwaves, you just know that it is that time of the year again. Just as CNY celebrations have finished wrapping up, Hari Raya season has started to swing into action. Malaysians and festive seasons are never far apart! Besides balik kampung, what is the most anticipated part of this season? It’s the Ramadan bazaar, of course, where you can find and gorge on an array of delicious seasonal delicacies without pause.
Given how many bazaars there are at any given time, it can be tough to decide which one to pay a visit to first. Fret not as MFT has a few suggestions for you, with these bazaars being located throughout the Klang Valley. See which one’s closest to you and make plans to visit them sometime this month.

Given its location smack in the middle of the city, it is not too surprising that this particular bazaar is a popular one. Occupying the streets in front of the old, classic Bukit Bintang McDonald’s outlet, this bazaar can easily leave you lost for choice with the variety of dishes available for your palate. Keep an eye out for the fried quails while you are here. Fried to crispy perfection, these delightful birds are best enjoyed with a side of rice and soup.

This bazaar often sets up shop along Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad and this is a go-to place if you are looking for unique offerings. In 2023 and 2024, a stall in this Ramadan bazaar went viral for its cheese wheel mac and cheese. Fingers crossed that it is making a comeback this year. Another stall which you will want to see this year is the beloved popiah basah stall which has been around for 20 years now.

Just a short walk away from the Bangsar LRT station, this Ramadan bazaar is nestled along Jalan Telawi and is a rather popular spot for locals and visitors alike. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in terms of variety. All the classic Raya goodies can be found here, including the Murtabak Raja. As the name may imply, this murtabak is comparable to a small pizza and has the girth of one. Perfect for a Malaysian family to share, or for one hungry Malaysian to gulp down.

If you remain lost for choice, note the bestseller here is the bubur lambuk, cooked the way your grandma would have wholeheartedly enjoyed.
