There has been a lot of hype surrounding nasi lemak spots recently, with places like 3Days Nasi Lemak and Nasi Lemak Burung Hantu, going absolutely viral. Well, pork lovers, it’s time to add a pork nasi lemak spot to your list of places to check out.
PJ’s food scene now boasts an Indian chef who is redefining Malaysia’s national dish, nasi lemak, with an irresistible twist: pork. While pork nasi lemak is not exactly new to the culinary scene in Malaysia, this chef does things a little differently with his love for babi—is his stall, Porking Mad, worth checking out?
With a 4.9 star rating on Google, let’s find out why this humble stall is being recommended to those craving a pork nasi lemak experience like no other.
Crazy about ‘babi’
Take a drive to Section 11 and you’ll stumble upon a rather favoured kopitiam, Chuan Lee. Popular thanks to its char kuey teow hawker stall. It is here that you’ll find Porking Mad, Dennis’s pork nasi lemak stall.
Porking Mad roughly translates to ‘gila babi’ and the chef behind this spicy hawker stall is indeed, crazy about his pork.
Now, Dennis isn’t just any amateur chef off the street. His resume boasts a 12-year stint as a professional chef. He even has experience working as a chef at Le Meridien. That’s right, he’s not messing about with his culinary skills.
Leaving behind his high-end career as a professional chef, Dennis decided it was time to bring his A-game to the local food scene. He actually started Porking Mad during the Covid-19 pandemic, but only set up shop mid last year. Running this stall is now his full-time business.
Are you Porking Mad?
At Porking Mad, you’ll find a nasi lemak experience that’s not only memorable but maybe even addictive. The star of the show here is, naturally, the pork. Dennis serves up three kinds of pork. According to the reviews, his offerings will make you question if you’ve ever had Nasi Lemak before.

First up, there’s the famous and well-loved pork neck berempah. Fried pork that’s seasoned with a blend of spices and fried till golden brown and crispy. Then there’s the Pork Rendang, cooked until tender, giving the meat all the time it needs to absorb that sweet, savoury flavour. Finally, staying true to his roots, Dennis had to have a pork varuval on the menu, a spicy and smoky option that simply checks all the boxes.
Ordering at the stall is a no-brainer. You can get a plate of nasi lemak, with the whole works, and all three varieties of pork, for only RM12. If that’s not a steal, what is?
The cherry on top of the cake is that the sambal here is free-flow. Spice things up and devour your affordable porky meal. Be warned though, his fiery condiment is not for the faint-hearted, while it strikes a subtle balance between sweet and spicy, if you’re not one who can handle spice, you might want to tread carefully. For those who live for the heat, bombs away.
Ain’t just a craze…

The stall operates six days a week, Dennis closes shop only on Mondays, so you’ve still got plenty of chances to go get your fix.
