I scream, you scream, everyone wants ice-cream! Who can say with all honesty that they don’t like ice-cream? The sweet, cold treat is beloved by children and adults alike and for good reason. It might not be healthy, but a sugar boost is good every once in a while.

While there are plenty of great ice-cream spots in KL, there’s this one ice-cream spot out of town worth journeying to. It’s called Popstick and it’s located in chilly Cameron Highlands. What makes it worth the journey? Quite a bit, actually!
This ice-cream spot is located at Kea Farm, an agricultural district in Cameron Highlands 3km away from Brinchang. It is one of many food and drink stalls that you can find here. Popstick is hard to miss, what with the big banner advertising its many colourful products.
Speaking of products, Popstick is famous for its natural fruit popsicles. If you like popsicles with real fruit pieces in every stick, then Popstick is unlikely to disappoint. This is especially so with its large variety of offerings, which include fruit popsicles, marshmallow ice-creams and a strange “hot” ice-cream.

Of the fruit popsicles, the shop’s pride and joy has to be the Strawberry Yoghurt Popsicle. With its bright pink hue and large cut strawberry embedded inside, it may just be pretty to eat! It’s just the perfect amount of sour and sweet, further enhanced by the creamy yoghurt.

We mentioned the Marshmallow Ice-Cream and might have triggered your curiosity. Well, this is a cube-shaped ice-cream, with a core of chilly ice-cream and a chewy marshmallow exterior. The ice-cream core flavours include strawberry, Oreo, durian, honeydew, grape and chocolate.

The most unique ice-cream has to be the Hot Ice-Cream though. Hot Ice-Cream? That sounds contradictory, doesn’t it? It’s not so much an ice-cream as much as it is a mix of whipped cream and black glutinous rice aka pulut.
As with the Marshmallow Ice-Cream, the Hot Ice-Cream has various flavours, like grape, mango, Oreo, strawberry, chocolate and apple. My favourite has to be the Oreo flavour, with the distinctive taste melding well with the soft cream and warm pulut.
Worth your time?

Overall, if you like ice-cream, Popstick is worth a quick stop if you happen to be passing through the area. Kids will most likely love it, and what’s wrong with an adult enjoying a bit of innocent sweetness? And if you don’t like ice-cream, the place also sells popcorn and sweet potato balls.
