Tucked away in a corner of Money’s Corner food court in Brickfields, Peter’s Pork Noodle has earned a reputation for being one of the best spots for a satisfying bowl of pork noodles in KL.
This well-known stall has been in the neighbourhood for over four decades now, and still draws a consistent crowd of customers who are eager to indulge in its offerings. While it’s difficult to crown any dish as the ‘best’, many netizens claim that Peter’s Pork Noodle ranks pretty fairly in the pork noodle scene, and is thus considered a must-try.
While the stall is named after its founder, Peter, it’s his dedicated team that has kept the flames of this eatery alive for for over 4 decades.
So, who is Peter, and what secrets make his stall a pork noodle standout in the vibrant KL food scene?
A history lesson on Peter’s stall

Founded in 1979 by Peter and his partner—who eventually stepped away—Peter’s Pork Noodle started its legacy at a different block of shops in Brickfields before moving to its current spot in the food court. Over the years, the stall has undergone significant changes, particularly when Peter handed the reins to his son and trusted staff.
Regulars did notice a dip in quality during this transition, but with time and practice, the flavours gradually returned to their former glory, reminiscent of the early 2000s. Today, at 72 years old, Peter still drops by the stall occasionally to ensure everything is running smoothly.
After spending decades in the kitchen, he’s now ready to enjoy life. With an affable chuckle, he told MFT, “Can’t cook forever mah!”
Sure, there are plenty of new pork noodle joints popping up all around KL—like the trendy Omega, which already has over six other outlets. Yet, Peter’s stall continues to hold its own.
What goes into Peter’s pork noodles?

With Peter’s pork noodles, you can expect a generous amount of minced pork, pork liver, and pork slices piled on top of your choice of noodles—be it kuey teow, mee hoon, yellow noodles, or a mix of these.
Offering a classic bowl of the dish, the stall naturally stands out as a go-to choice for anyone craving pork noodles in Brickfields. Though, one of the hallmarks of this eatery is its soft-boiled egg, which you can add for an additional RM1.
They carefully cook each one to achieve the perfect fluffy state, with velvety whites encasing rich, golden yolks that ooze out when prodded.
It’s a gooey dream that adds a creaminess to your bowl of noodles, making it all the more slurp worthy.
Customers also appreciate the generous sprinkle of pork lard, which adds a nice crunch and a burst of savoury richness to the dish. A little pro tip: don’t hesitate to ask for a little extra pork lard when you place your order.
When it comes to pricing, each bowl has remained impressively affordable. A small bowl will set you back only RM9, and if you want to add that beautiful soft-boiled egg, it’ll be RM10. Considering that a decade ago, the same small bowl with an egg cost RM6, it’s clear that the stall has maintained a commitment to keeping its noodles accessible.
You can also opt for the dry version of the pork noodles, tossed in a light soy sauce mixture, accompanied by a steaming bowl of pork soup on the side, complete with their signature soft-boiled egg. The dry version comes with a more heavy handed helping of pork lard, if that appeals to you.

A deeper dive into Peter’s pork noodle
Despite the stall’s well-established reputation, with over 700 Google reviews and a decent level of social media buzz, some newer reviews have raised a few eyebrows (particularly mine).
More recently, several customers have noted that the flavours just aren’t quite what they once were, creating a sense of uncertainty about the pork noodle experience here. Dining at Peter’s Pork Noodle can feel like a game of chance. Sometimes you’re rewarded with a bowl bursting with all the right flavours, while other times, the broth may seem diluted or lacklustre.
On occasion, it swings the other way, from bland to overly salty, leaving diners with a perplexed and mixed impression.
In the midst of bad reviews, they are still getting some recent 5-star ratings. The stall managed to reclaim its former glory once before—can they do it again?
One thing diners can agree on is that the food court lacks proper ventilation, so it can get pretty stuffy in there. Consider yourself warned.
Still one of the best in KL?

Peter’s Pork Noodle remains a cherished part of Brickfields’s food scene.
After all these time, it might not be perfect, and the taste may not be identical to how it was when they first started out. But for many regulars, it’s still their go-to, holding a special place in their stomachs.
Is it still one of the best pork noodles in KL? That’s for you to decide.
