Hutt Lagoon
Is life getting too stressful for you? Just need to step away from work and breathe? If you need to get away just for a bit, then look no further than Western Australia. Stunning beaches, vibrant city vibes and natural wonders? You name it!
The best part is that Western Australia is just five hours away by flight! So, whether you’re travelling solo, with a SO or with the whole family, Perth/Boorloo and beyond offer the adventure you have been waiting for your whole life.
But why Western Australia?

Swan Valley
Before you think about meeting Aussie wildlife, hear us out. Western Australia is the closest part of Australia to Malaysia. What does that mean? No jet lag! And even better, it’s the same time zone as Malaysia, making travelling a far less stressful affair.
For Muslim travellers, there will be more than enough halal-friendly options, so you can go exploring without worry. And there will be a lot of exploring, since Perth is a living city with gorgeous natural sceneries just a short drive away.
Perth, the Beachside City

Kings Park & Cottesloe Beach
There’s something just breathtaking about beachside cities. Maybe it’s how urban landscapes blend so well with coastal panoramas here. Either way, in Perth, you will never be far away from a bustling street and an incredible beach.
Where should you spend your time, with so many things to do? First on the list, check out Elizabeth Quay, a gorgeous waterfront precinct where you can find food, entertainment and city views in a single locale.
Alternatively, go for a stroll in the sizeable Kings Park & Botanic Garden/Kaarta Koomba. If you have the time, the historic port town of Fremantle/Walyalup beckons with its historic markets, colonial-style streets and Western Australia’s best seafood.
Need to experience Australia’s famous beaches? Then settle down on Cottesloe Beach, with its golden sands and breathtaking Indian Ocean sunsets. Or, if you are feeling artsy, the Perth Cultural Centre is likely up your alley.
Beyond the city

The Pinnacles & Rottnest Island
There’s more to explore beyond Perth’s boundaries, though! Take Swan Valley, for example, which is WA’s oldest wine region. Want gourmet food? Love chocolate? Adore wine? Come here already!
Nature lovers, pay attention! You will find yourself at home in the Pinnacles Desert, where limestone formations tower over the landscape. Be sure to bring your camera to the Hutt Lagoon, where the famous Pink Lake makes for the best Insta pics.
If you have the time, be sure to take the ferry to Rottnest Island/Wadjemup, a paradise with untainted beaches and quokkas. What’s a quokka? Haha! Let’s just say it’s the world’s happiest animal that will bring a smile to your face. You should see it for yourself – and don’t forget to bring your camera!
How to stay budget-friendly?

Elizabeth Quay
If you are worried about burning a hole in your pocket, don’t worry! There are ways to save money while travelling through Western Australia. For starters, use public transport! Perth’s Transperth system is not too different from our own RapidKL, and is just as easy to use as it is affordable.
There are also plenty of free attractions you can visit, like Elizabeth Quay, street art trails and the public beaches. When heading out to eat, keep an eye out for food markets and casual eateries rather than high-end spots. Lastly, plan ahead and secure the best flight and hotel deals.
When’s the best time to visit?

Margaret River Wine Region & Mukinbudin and Bencubbin
Any time! WA has a diverse climate and is Australia’s sunniest capital city. That said, if you want to go beach exploring, December to February are your best months. March to May has the mildest temperatures with smaller crowds.
Likewise, June to August is the best time to go whale watching or to chill in a Margaret River vineyard. Meanwhile, spring, which lasts from September to November, is the best time to frolic in a national park.
