This pizza business originally started in Brunei but has since expanded to Malaysia. Its first local outlet is in Taman Paramount and promises to be a hit with local pizza lovers. Have we mentioned their pizza dough is fermented for over three days?

Looking at the menu, you can tell someone was feeling artistic when naming the menu items. Everything from Lucy in the Sky to Smoke on the Water. The pizzas are likely to be as good as the names, with many ingredients made in-house or bought fresh.

Yet another restaurant from a neighbour has made its way into the local food scene. This time, it is the Singaporean fish and chips restaurant Lad & Dad. It has set up shop in the busy Wisma Cosway in KL.

If you ever craved British pub food, this is one place to get your fix. The fish and chips here are the real thing, with the fish batter crispy and the chips addictive. Of course, you can also get a mug of beer to go with it, like any good old Brit would.

Father’s Day happens to be coming around the middle of this month. For this occasion, perhaps a meal at this new restaurant would be perfect. After all, the restaurant is named in honour of the founders’ beloved father.

Foodwise, you can expect Western comfort food like coney dogs, chicken Maryland, chicken chop and black pepper steak. The restaurant is going for an 80s vibe, and it may just make you feel nostalgic. Also, the place is pet-friendly!

Are you the sort of person who prefers dry over soup noodles? You’re in luck, as this new Japanese restaurant has just the thing for you: ramen without the soup. It’s certainly one way to keep your shirt dry while enjoying your noodles.

This restaurant specialises in abura soba, aka soupless soba. In place of the soup, you have tasty, flavourful sauces. While this may sound incredibly simple, these savoury noodles pack a punch more than you can imagine.

Looks like Japanese food fans are eating well this month. This izakaya in RexKL is run by the same folks behind the popular Raijin Ramen. If you ever wanted to feel like you’re chilling in a Tokyo alleyway, this is the place to do just that.

The menu is pork-free, so Malaysians of all stripes are welcome here. Yakitori is, of course, on the menu as well as several types of donburi and karaage. Given the decor, this is the sort of space you will likely want to enjoy in the company of friends.

Taman Tun Dr Ismail has yet another item to add to its list of restaurants. Don Omakase is a must-visit if you love Japanese rice bowls. This place takes the classic Japanese offering to the next level, with premium ingredients and the omakase treatment.

The main attraction at this restaurant has to be the Zuwai Kani Don, which is a bowl with both snow crab and kani miso. This is just one of about 40 different types of rice bowls, each of which can be topped up with additional sides and desserts.

If the name has you looking twice, you are probably familiar with Barra on Petaling Street. This is no copyright infringer, though, as Barraca is the younger sibling to the popular Spanish restaurant.

Unsurprisingly, Barraca is also a place to check out if you loved Barra’s Mediterranean offerings. Here, you can gorge on an array of tapas and paella. Open for lunch and dinner, Barra also has a substantial selection of seafood menu items worth savouring.

Yes, we can confirm this is an actual eatery and not a gardening club. It is just one of many restaurants located in the refurbished Yap Ah Shak House. It really is what you get when you combine a cafe with a gallery.

While admiring the greenery here, be sure to check out the menu as well. The menu was curated with natural elements in mind. Thus, every dish on the menu features a good combo of herbs, flowers and spices, like the roasted pumpkin salad with portobello.
