Ever wondered if the secret to glowing skin could be hiding in your bowl of noodles? At Mr Fish Fish & Seafood Noodle, they claim their Fish Head Noodle, packed with collagen-rich ingredients, might just give your skin that radiant boost. We visited their One Utama branch, one of over 10 outlets scattered across PJ and KL, to see if this seafood noodle spot really lives up to the hype.
While we can’t promise instant glowing skin, the pork-free, seafood-packed menu was too tempting to resist. After trying a few dishes, we totally understood why this place is always super crowded, especially during lunch time.
Collagen-rich broth for radiant skin?

It’s no secret that collagen is great for the skin and Mr Fish Fish & Seafood Noodle claims their rich fish bone soup base is loaded with the good stuff.
Made from barramundi and grouper, this flavourful broth is cooked for a solid 5 to 6 hours (talk about commitment). The broth is made by simmering the whole fish and fish bones, using every part to extract maximum flavour. It’s a labour of love that results in a deeply umami, collagen-packed soup you’ll want to slurp up.
This flavourful base not only aids with nourishing your skin but also strengthens bone health and may just give you that radiant glow we all crave. The light, non-greasy soup is the perfect tonic, and trust us, it’s as tasty as it is nutritious, but we’ll get into that later.
Mr Fish Fish & Seafood Noodle offers a variety of other soup bases to tickle your tastebuds. Choose from Milky, Superior, Tom Yum, or Curry Laksa. Each one comes with a variety of fresh seafood options with a prince range of RM18.90 to RM32.90. Their milky soup does contain a dash of shaoxing wine, but you can ask them to leave it out if you prefer. At Mr Fish Fish & Seafood Noodle, you can also level up your bowl with a variety of add-ons for just a few extra ringgit.
If you’re a rice person, don’t worry, they’ve also got an Asian Fusion page with one-bowl donburi dishes starting from RM14.90 to RM25.90. Each of these bowls comes with a free bowl of miso soup, a welcome bonus for sure, and if you’re not a seafood fan, this section has some tempting chicken options too.
With so many options, it’s safe to say you’ll find something to suit your cravings.

Across their multiple outlets, Mr Fish Fish & Seafood Noodle has amassed thousands of reviews and high ratings. The One Utama branch alone has over 900 reviews, with an impressive 4.8-star rating. MFT’s review

We kicked off our meal with one of their most popular mains, the Premium Grouper Fillet & Fish Maw Milky Soup Noodle (RM25.50). The fried halibut fillet was crispy, boneless, and paired really well with the milky broth. The soup itself was comforting, creamy, and had a lovely consistency, especially after we added a little homemade chili for an extra kick.

For something with more spice, the Curry Laksa Seafood Mix (RM31.90) hit all the right notes. Fun fact: the recipe was passed down from the owner’s mother. Their laksa uses the same fish broth base but a homemade laksa paste is added to it. This dish was a combination of fish fillets, giant tiger prawns, and fish maw. With that homemade spice and umami from the seafood, it ended up being our favorite dish of the day.

Looking for more heat? Go for the Sambal Pedas Prawn Rice (RM17.90). This dish was spicier than we expected, but in the best possible way. The sambal prawns were fresh and the dish had an overall satisfying sweet, spicy kick. We also really enjoyed the crispy fried enoki mushrooms and cucumber salad on the side, which added a nice crunchy, savoury contrast to the rice dish. The cucumber salad definitely helped with the spice.

If you’re feeling extra hungry or simply want to level up your meal, we highly recommend trying the sides at Mr Fish Fish & Seafood Noodle to bring a satisfying crunch to your noodles. If you love crispy, greasy goodness, the Fried Salmon Fish Skin (RM14.90) is a must-try. The fried fish skin was very crunchy and served with a delicious creamy sauce. This side paired perfectly with our noodles. Another side option is their Fried Soft-Shell Prawn (RM14.90), which was lightly battered and fried to perfection.
Drinks & desserts

For those looking to boost their collagen intake, they offer drinks like the Original Collagen (RM10.00) and Osmanthus Honey Collagen (RM11.00). These drinks are a nice touch if you’re serious about that skin glow. Hey, don’t knock it till you try it.

After all that seafood goodness, we decided to finish our meal with a couple of simple and highly affordable desserts. The Longan Pudding (RM5.90) was light and refreshing, not too sweet, with a unique taste that was perfect after such a hearty meal. The Bubur Cha Cha (RM6.90) on the other hand was creamy and sweet, a classic that hardly ever disappoints. These desserts were a great way to round off our lunch.
