Life in the city can become quite hectic. And what way to destress than to go on a retreat somewhere peaceful and quiet? If peace and quiet are what you want, then you should check out Mangala Estate, a boutique resort in Kuantan which offers you a relaxing stay and so much more.
Eco-friendly resort
It takes a two and a half hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur but the journey here is more than worth it. The name “Mangala” is Sanskrit for auspicious well-being. Indeed, the resort strives to be an eco-friendly tourist destination that pampers guests with over 70 acres of jungle, palm plantations and lakes.
In fact, Mangala is so eco-friendly that there is a zero deforestation policy in place. No matter what, natural forests on the resort grounds will never be cleared for any reason. The land on which Mangala sits used to be a mining area but has now become a green lung rich with flora and fauna. What’s more, some of the resort’s electricity comes from solar panels.
Farm-to-table food

The food that you eat at Mangala also comes directly from the resort’s farm and fruit orchard. Guests have most of their meals at the all-day Estate Dining. The restaurant has large glass windows, which keep the place bright and open, especially during the day. Keeping with Mangala’s eco-friendly policies, breakfasts are ala carte and not buffet-style. There is also the curated Experiential Dining, which requires guests to specially arrange with the resort.
67 different villas

For accommodation, Mangala has 67 villas which guests can rent. Prices range from RM800 to RM11,000. Each villa has its own name, to highlight its uniqueness. For example, Sara Villa has a gorgeous view of wetlands, perfect for nature lovers. Jala Villas, on the other hand, lets guests experience living above a lake. And if you want privacy and luxury, Vana Villas come with a private pool.
While the Amani Villas are surrounded by mango and durian trees, the Family Villa is perfect for guests coming with children. The largest villa, however, is the Bungalow. This villa has a total of two levels and six bedrooms. As expected of an eco-friendly resort, the wood used for the Bungalow was sourced from sustainable forests.
