Getting a quick and delicious bite from Family Mart is a norm for Malaysians nowadays, with a wide variety of freshly prepared hot food and drinks available at the counter.
Did you know that we have a Malay-style Family Mart in Pasar Seni, where you can order freshly prepared local dishes instead of Korean food?

It’s called Food Market, a convenience store and café concept that offers quick local bites, snacks, frozen food, and other local products.
Savour Hot Meals at Food Market
When you arrive at the store, you will see a row of tiny cards with food item labels. Choose your choice of menu from the cards, and mix and match to make your own personalized meal.
You can mix various kinds of rice menu, like nasi briyani, nasi jagung, nasi minyak with side dishes like ayam masak merah, kuzi daging and kari ayam. Give your dish an added kick with an impressive selection of sambals to add on. They have sambal bilis premium, sambal budu and cili sambal bawang putih for all you spice lovers out there.

Craving food soup instead? You can opt to savour their noodles and seafood selections paired with different soups. There’s egg noodles, kue teow, mee suar ipoh with soups like kuah mee kari and kuah mee rebus. Add on sides like crab stick, fish ball or prawn to complete your meal!
After you’re done choosing your cards, take the paper bowl along with it and bring the menu cards and paper bowl to the counter to pay for your items. Then, you need to go for a mini hunt at the chilled section, to find your menu items stored in packets. After collecting your food packets, head over to the cooking station with a cheeky sign that says “Port Membawang”, where the staff will prepare your meal for you.
A Variety of Local Food Products to Take Home
Aside from quick hot meals, the mart also sells a variety of locally produced food products for you to take home. We just have to note that the packaging from these vendors are all super cute and aesthetic! In the frozen section, there’s various kuehs and malay snacks you can purchase like kuih seri muka, talam ubi and talam gula melaka.

You may also find various premixes, rempahs and sambals. There’s daging salai batang pinang, pekasam daging, rempah daging magribi and ayam masak ros to name a few. Find snacks and desserts like biskut cicah kopi, puding raja, kerepek pisang and kerepek pedas for you to munch on.
For a sweet treat in the hot weather, cool down with their Malaysian ice cream flavors. It will bring back memories of buying ice cream from uncles on motorcycles near your school.
