KITA Food Festival’s Next Chapter Will Be in KL November 2022!

Malaysia’s KITA Food Festival, Asia’s first annual industry-led culinary festival, has now released tickets for its Kuala Lumpur dining events. On 25th November 2022 (Friday), the much-anticipated dining events in KL will begin with a lineup of award-winning and Michelin-starred Singapore-based chefs.

Michelin Experience – KITA Food Festival Dining Highlights on 25th November

  • Sun Kim of Meta and Ivan Brehm of Nouri, both one- Michelin star restaurants, will collaborate in a six-hand dinner with Darren Teoh at Dewakan, currently #50 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.

  • Johanne Siy of Lolla, #75 on Asia’s Best Restaurants, will cook together with Chef Mui Kai Kuan at Shhhbuuuleee, located at the rooftop of China Town’s edgy RexKL.
  • Cloudstreet’s Rishi Naleedra, with two-Michelin stars fresh under his belt, will cook for two consecutive nights with Shaun Ng at his intimate, elegant restaurant, Hide.

Feast in Style – KITA Food Festival Dining Highlights on 26th November

  • A stylish lunch will be held at Flock, W Kuala Lumpur’s all day diner. There, California cuisine king, David Tang of Rosemead in Singapore will join forces with grill master extraordinaire of KL’s perpetually sold-out Atelier Binchotan, and Haznizam Hamzah – the mastermind behind the the colorful creations at vibrant, down-to-earth Flock, inspired by bold Pan-Asian flavors.

  • Eelke Plasmeijer and Ray Adriansyah of Bali’s Locavore will get together with Aidan Low of Akâr Dining to treat diners on a sensory journey like no other.

  • A latino-inspired party by chefs Daniel and Tamara Chavez of Canchita, together with Nouri’s Ivan Brehm and team at KL’s hip and happening Afro-Caribbean restobar, Joloko.

  • A sumptuous French feast at KL’s much-lauded Entier, where chef Jeremy Gillon of Singapore’s one-Michelin starred Restaurant JAG comes together with the master of melding French and Japanese cuisine, Masashi Horiuchi.
  • Christian Encina of Bali’s Pica, join forces with chefs Jun Wong and Chee Mun Leong in Raw Kitchen Hall, at KL’s hot new boutique hotel, Else.
  • Jordy Navarra of Manila’s Toyo Eatery, #94 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, cooks alongside Gary Anwar at Ember Modern Bistro.
  • The Big Sunday Barbecue – an afternoon fiesta at Tiffin at The Yard.

Exciting Events Lined Up for 2022

Besides delicious dining experiences, a series of masterclasses will be held on the 26th and 27th of November 2022. The classes encompassed subjects such as whisky, wine and sake appreciation.

A day of talks and panel discussions entitled ‘Conversations & Ideas’ by F&B industry experts will also be held. The topics to be discussed are:

  • Sustainable sourcing and traceability
  • Dealing with no-shows without losing money
  • Authenticity in traditional cuisine
  • The growing role of women in today’s commercial kitchens
