We Malaysians love good food, no matter where it comes from. Little wonder then that many locals are fond of Italian food. Who wouldn’t be? Even the simplest dishes from the Italian peninsula are packed with flavour and texture.

If you are craving some good Italian food right now, hold your horses and don’t buy that plane ticket just yet. Instead, head on over to your local Village Grocer, Ben’s Independent Grocer (B.I.G.), BSC Fine Foods or The Food Merchant outlet.

The festival’s big launch will be held at B.I.G. Publika, starting at 10 am, 10 June. If you love the finer things in life, don’t miss out on this feast. There will be plenty of things for you to see and do, as well as to taste, of course!

There will be live cooking demonstrations, with a talented chef cooking pasta inside a giant cheese wheel and free tastings of pasta, refreshing salads and tiramisù. Caffeine addicts, head over to the Illy coffee counter to enjoy premium Italian-style brews.

And for more business-minded folks, a dedicated team will be on-site to assist with any inquiries about the featured products. Additionally, industry experts will be available to discuss the latest trends and developments in the field.

Italian food is all about quality and tradition. Thus, every ingredient is held to strict standards, so you know what you’re tasting is the real deal. This festival is one way to try real Italian products to enjoy the full flavours of Italy.

That said, some of these Italian imports are not halal-certified. Muslim customers are hence encouraged to check the ingredients before buying or eating anything. And if you need clarification, feel free to ask the staff on-site.

Something for everyone
