Beggar Chicken is a chicken dish, which the chicken is stuffed and then wrapped in clay and leaves (banana, bamboo or lotus leaves). It is later wrapped in clay before being cooked at low heat.

Now, you don’t have to go all the way to China to try this dish because there’s one in Ampang, Selangor!

Located at Jalan Ulu Klang, this stall called New Heong Kee Restaurant has been selling Beggar Chicken for around 50 years. Not to mention, all their preparations are made in-house!

You need to book this a day earlier, if you would like to try this dish. The preparation of dish is known for being time-consuming and tricky, as the cooking alone will take about FIVE HOURS!
