Fuiyoh! Watch out, Encik Gordon Ramsay! Uncle Roger, sets up fourth restaurant at Central i-City

He may have opened his first-ever restaurant just last September, but it seems Uncle Roger has no intention of putting an end to the roll he is on. After having set up shop in Pavillion KL, MyTOWN Shopping Centre and IPC Shopping Centre, he has now turned his eyes to Central i-City Shopping Centre, where his fourth outlet has finally thrown open its doors on 11 January.

The world-famous comedian and YouTuber, whose real name is Nigel Ng, was there on the opening day to celebrate the launch of his fourth FUIYOH! It’s UNCLE ROGER restaurant, taking part in a grand ceremony which had him tossing fried rice with other VIPs present. It was also at this ceremony that the restaurant chain announced ambitious plans to expand to the travel hub of KLIA2 as well as the southernmost city of Johor Bahru.

Speaking to those present, Ng said that he feels humbled by the overwhelming response to his restaurant chain. “I’m truly excited to bring our unique flavours to Shah Alam,” he said. “It’s near Klang, so I’ll get some fried rice and then stop by for bak kut teh after!” The outlet at Central i-City will be his second one in Selangor and is unlikely to be the last if his ambitious goals are any indicator.

As with his other restaurants, the i-City outlet serves five types of fried rice, namely Uncle Roger’s Special Fry Rice (Spicy) (RM18), its non-spicy variant (RM16), the Kimchi Fried Rice (RM18), the Tomato Fried Rice (RM18) and Uncle Roger’s Egg Fry Noodle (RM17). Adds-ons for the fried rice are also available, ranging from fancy Grilled Unagi (RM29) to Crispy Sunny Side Up eggs (RM6). Snacks or Small Bites include everything from YSoWeak Mala Popcorn Chicken (RM27) to Haiyaa Pickled Cucumber (RM9).

Ng may be one of Malaysia’s most internationally known content creators, as evidenced by his recent YouTube milestone when he finally reached 10 million subscribers. He continues to be a dominant force on other social media platforms, with 4.6 million followers on Instagram and 11.1 million on TikTok. He was shot to fame through his comedic videos, where he assumes a stereotypical and exaggerated Chinese Malaysian personality and accent while discussing food.
