The perfect setting for large gatherings

Walking into Empat Sekawan in Puchong feels like entering a classy and massive industrial space that somehow still feels cosy and inviting. The high ceilings and wide-open floor plan give the restaurant a feeling of spaciousness. This makes it perfect for big gatherings or a casual meal with friends. With concrete floors and walls, combined with wooden and metal elements, the industrial design is softened with touches of minimalist Japanese influence. Expansive glass windows let in plenty of natural light, making the space feel breezy and fresh. A few plants here and there add a burst of greenery, and the outdoor seating area offers a relaxed vibe.
In three words? Breezy. Light. Clean.
A menu that will have you scratching your head

When we say Empat Sekawan’s menu is extensive, we really mean it. With a staggering 81 pages, it’s a food lover’s dream! Though we bet you’ll have a touch time deciding what to order.
From Asian staples to Western-inspired dishes, the variety is vast, yet it’s the kind of overwhelming you’ll love. Who can resist being spoilt for choice? To make things even better, each dish is beautifully plated. This showcases a modern take on our familiar local classic kopitiam experience, blending contemporary aesthetics with the nostalgic comfort of Asian and fusion flavours.

Whether you’re in the mood for a traditional Malaysian dish, like the aromatic Nasi Lemak Biru, or a comforting Japanese classic such as the Japanese Curry Chicken Katsu Rice, you’ll find something to satisfy your taste buds.
For those seeking more international flavours, there’s the spicy Korean Ramyun, the tangy Vietnamese Hot & Sour Soup Noodles, or the heartwarming Taste of Mama’s Sesame Oil Chicken Rice—a dish that brings the comforting essence of homemade meals right to your table.

If you’re after something with a fusion twist, their Salted Egg Yolk Chicken Chop is a must-try. Fun fact: Empat Sekawan offers 11 different fried chicken chop varieties. Each one is paired with a unique or classic sauce, and for those who prefer grilled options, those are available too.
The variety doesn’t end there. The restaurant also offers a selection of vegetarian dishes, shareable snack plates, and a long drink menu to perfectly complement your meal. Dessert lovers will be in paradise with their ice cream bar, featuring over 20 flavours, both premium and standard, along with a tempting array of other sweet treats.
MFT’s review

Their Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken and Sambal Petai (RM27.90) was a standout dish for us. The fried chicken, marinated for four hours, was tender and juicy, and paired wonderfully with the sambal petai. The nasi lemak sambal on the other hand had a hint of gula melaka which not only added a layer of sweetness, but made it more fragrant too.
Our top pick, however, was the Grandma Chicken Curry Mee (RM28.90). The curry broth is rich and full of umami, simmered for hours with spices, as Chef Wilfred explained. The tender chicken, drenched in the thick, flavourful curry, was incredibly satisfying. The real highlight? The combination of bihun and mee noodles, adding a delightful texture that made every bite even more enjoyable.

A comforting dish that hits all the right notes was their Seafood Cantonese Fried Noodles (RM25.90). While it could have used a little more wok hei, the seafood and noodles were perfectly cooked served saucy and steaming. Yum!
The Peach Shaped Dumplings (4 pcs) RM25.90 are a rare find these days and Empat Sekawan does them justice. With four different flavours (Mang Guang, Yam, Gu Cai, and Peanuts), each bite is packed with flavour and delightful filling.

If you’re ever craving a taste of the world, this restaurant has you covered any day. The only problem? Choosing what to order from that massive 81-page menu. Good luck!
