The Dogathon 2023 event, organized by the VETERNAK and Zoologico club of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at University Putra Malaysia (UPM), promises a fun-filled day for dog lovers and their pets. As Malaysia’s most prominent dog gathering event, Dogathon aims to raise funds for the Stray Animal Awareness Program organized by the PRO-KASIH club and increase public awareness of animal welfare.

This event is designed to manage and help the strays by getting participants to spend a great time with the animals, learn more in-depth, and treat them well.
A Day of Amusement and Education for Dog Owners
Dogathon 2023, with the theme “Hairy Pawter and The Howling Run,” offers an all-rounded day of excitement and education on companion animal healthcare. The event is inclusive to all breeds of dogs and their owners, providing a unique opportunity for bonding and learning.
Activities and Attractions at Dogathon 2023
This year’s Dogathon will be held on May 20th, 2023, at Bukit Ekspo, University Putra Malaysia, from 6:30 am to 1 pm Participants can expect a wide range of activities, including:
- Exciting games like MasterHunt, Hide and Seek, and Suit up
- The main highlight: a 2 km “Dog Race” through the lush greens of Bukit Ekspo
- Demonstrations by the Royal Malaysia Police (Unit K9)
- An adoption booth by SPCA Selangor and SCSA provides opportunities to adopt a life companion.
- A talk by Ms June Low from Mighty Dog Academy PLT on dog obedience training
- Complimentary physical examinations and veterinary consultations
Stalls and Souvenirs at Dogathon 2023
Visitors can also explore stalls selling various pet-related products and take home customized tote bags featuring their and their pup’s pawprints as a special keepsake from the event.
