If you’re a lover of flaky pastries, good coffee, and the scent of freshly baked bread wafting through the air, then you’ve probably heard of Croisserie Artisan Bakery. This beloved spot in KL has been around for years now and has become a staple for both pastry enthusiasts and Damansara residents. The bakery has just reopened in a much larger and fancier space in Damansara Heights and it’s every bit as stylish and mouth-watering as you’d expect.
A bigger, better, and bolder space

Gone are the days of cramped corners and battling for a seat. Croisserie has moved into a new location that’s not just bigger but beautifully designed too. The spacious interior is flooded with natural light thanks to large glass windows that create a bright, airy feel. The contemporary decor gives off an inviting yet chic vibe, perfect for brunch dates or simply enjoying your favourite pastry with a coffee.

As with their old space, you can still catch glimpses of the breadmaking magic happening behind glass windows. The only difference now is that their kitchen is bigger and better, giving you an even closer look at their talented bakers at work. It’s like watching an artist fill their blank canvas—except the masterpiece is a warm, golden croissant that you’ll devour in seconds.
The best part? With the new space, Croisserie now offers more seating than ever before. If, like me, you’ve had to brave the long queues at their previous location, you’ll appreciate how much more room there is now. The expanded area means it’s much easier to grab a table, even during the busiest hours.
Over 80 varieties of freshly baked goods

Let’s talk about the most important thing here: the pastries. Croisserie offers over 80 different types of baked goods, ranging from sweet to savoury. Whether you’re in the mood for a flaky croissant au beurre, a rich pain au chocolat, or a vibrant blueberry croissant tart, you’ll find something to enjoy here.
If you’re into petit gateaux, they’ve got those too, with delicate layers and intricate designs that would make any dessert connoisseur swoon. You’ll also find fresh bread, buns, and pastries on display, all baked fresh daily in-house.
It’s no wonder that people flock to this spot. There’s so much to choose from, and everything is made with such care that each bite feels like a little luxury.
The new space apparently isn’t perfect

Sadly, as with any popular spot, not everything is perfect. While Croisserie’s new location is undeniably stunning, it does come with a few hiccups.
Some visitors have mentioned that the acoustics in the space can make the noise and chatter travel a little too easily. One Google review said, “The bakery offers a great selection of baked goods, and the new shop has more seating, which is a welcome change. However, the overall ambiance was disappointing. The acoustics in the space create a lot of echo, making it unpleasantly noisy as people naturally speak louder to compensate.” If you’re someone who loves a quieter, more intimate setting to enjoy your meal, this might not be the place to kick back and relax.
That being said, Croisserie’s staff is doing their best to manage the crowds. Even with a long line outside (yes, it’s still there, despite the bigger space), the team moves things along pretty efficiently, so you don’t have to wait forever to get in. That being said, if you’re someone who values peace and quiet when you’re dining out, this could still present as a bit of a challenge.
A small price to pay for quality
Let’s talk price: Yes, Croisserie is on the higher end of the spectrum, but for the quality of food and the craftsmanship behind each item, most would argue that it’s worth it. You’ll find that many KL locals are willing to splurge for the experience.
Folks, with quality comes a price in more ways than one. Despite the new location, parking in Damansara Heights is still a challenge. So, if you’re driving, prepare for a bit of a hunt for a spot.
The hot chocolate that’s gone

Croisserie has always held a special place in my heart, though surprisingly not just for their baked goods. I used to frequent the bakery with a friend as we were both absolutely hooked on their rich Callebaut hot chocolate, which we’d quickly decided was one of the best in KL.
Unfortunately, it looks like that’s no longer on the menu. Now, before you mourn that loss with me, here’s the silver lining: they’ve switched to a locally sourced option, using Malaysian single-origin chocolate from Chocolate Concierge. Now, you can enjoy hot chocolates made from either Semai Chocolate (72%) or Chemor Chocolate (70%), both crafted from beans grown exclusively in Malaysia. It’s a small change that supports local businesses—and whether it’s just as good, better, or worse? Well, that’s up to you hot chocolate aficionados to decide, as I’ve yet to try it myself.
Croisserie’s new crib
If you’re looking for a bakery with an extensive range of baked goods and a vibrant atmosphere, then Croisserie’s new location in Damansara Heights is worth a visit. Whether you’re there for their classic pastries, freshly baked bread, or just to soak in the light-filled, modern setting, you won’t leave disappointed. Just be ready for the crowds and some noise—but if that doesn’t bother you, then you’re in for a treat, literally and figuratively.
