A shining oasis in the heat of the Klang Valley, Instea Creative Tea and Coffee Bar is known for its innovative yet comforting creations. We personally adore the ambience as it’s perfect for those who want a cafe to work in. This branch plays a particularly chill playlist with good vibes, and even provides free Wi-Fi.

The must-try, while you’re at Instea, is definitely the Mango Cheesecake Bingsu. With rich vanilla ice cream on top and massive chunks of mango and cheesecake, this dessert is a creamy, tropical delight. And to wash it down? The Summer Passion Fruity, it’s got boba, passion fruit pulp, and even coconut jelly for that extra chew while you slurp! A citrusy, tangy and sweet cooler.

2. Dao Desserts

The soya bean uncle might be every Malaysian’s favourite childhood memory. And Dao Desserts manages to recreate those nostalgic flavours with the most modern of techniques.

Their Dao Nai Bing is a deliciously luscious and cooling dessert with soy bean curd, grass jelly, sweet potato balls and red bean paste. All compliment each other wonderfully, but for something that will really be satisfying, the sundao is a nutty, soybean based sundae cone that won’t disappoint.

Smack in the heart of KL, where you’ve done your fair share of walking under the blazing KL heat, Cold Stone Creamery sits, awaiting your customisable orders. That’s the beauty of it after all, where you can have almost any flavour combination you can think of.

Our personal pick is the French Vanilla Ice Cream with chocolate chips, cookie dough, fudge, and extra caramel on top. It’s so decadent it just might ruin other ice cream combos for you. Alternatively, for the more simple at heart, try the Ferrero Rocher Ice Cream with rainbow sprinkles for that extra sugary crunch.

Coconuts may just be the most refreshing thing out there. So you just know that Coco Loca’s not only going to wash away the heat but your worries too!

Their coconut shakes are just downright delectable, perfectly creamy, yet still slightly frozen for the best texture you could want. But a drink that we’re surprised by is the Coconut Americano. The bittersweetness with a slight coconut aroma will surely whisk you away.

Mere seconds after stepping foot in Teapack, you’ll be met with particularly chilly air and the smell of browning sugar. However, we particularly love their mango series. The Mango Boom is just great, with juicy mango puree and bits of sago. It’s also really creamy and sugary.

Something sweet is always the best thing to beat the heat. We also really recommend the Mango Banana, a pudding that’s as jiggly as it is delicious!

6. Dou Dou

For classic desserts that you can easily find elsewhere, but are the cream of the crop, try out Dou Dou. Situated in Plaza Merdeka, we appreciate the convenient location and their Ai Yu Jelly.

There are plenty of customisable options, but we personally love the red bean paste, as it’s perfectly cooked and not too sweet. Try the red bean paste on the soy bean curd too, you definitely will not regret it.

Opening Hours: Open daily, 10am – 10pm

7. Garden Cafe by bing! Coffee

For a quick pit stop for those time when you don’t have time for anything but a silly little drink, Garden Cafe is certainly a sight for sore eyes! Filled with lush greens that create for a super chilly environment, the drinks are equally as chilly! We particularly love the Ice Blended Tiramisu, with a great coffee aroma, and served with a lady’s finger cookie on top for you to dip it in! But of course, you can never go wrong with coffee, so have at it while you’re there!

8. Stone Ice

If you’re looking for that classic Malaysian flavour, look no further than Stone Ice. Staying true to their name, their desserts and drinks are icy cold.

Try the ABC Special, which is a unique take on the traditional ABC dessert, in the sense that they’ve added a secret ingredient that even we can’t disclose, but can certainly say that is delicious and refreshing. Also try the Five Flavour dessert, as its 5 flavours are all kinds of sour, sweet, citrusy, and tangy.
