This unassuming stall is so famous among the Indian expat community in Brickfields that word spread fast to us Malaysians too! Don’t be shocked by the snaking queues this time around as the sweets are so good you will be transported back to India! Palkova and Badam Burfi (both are milk-based sweets) are the most highly sought after here.

Offering some of the best Indian sweets in town, this restaurant which looks like a mamak from the outside is often bustling with people. The authenticity of the sweets have been maintained for many years which keep customers coming back for more. 

Some of the sweets that you can try include burfi, gulab jamun (fried milk balls in sugar syrup), coconut candy and laddu, as well as the much lauded rasmalai (another milk ball variation served with buffalo milk and almonds).

This Chennai-based restaurant chain is famous for authentic Indian food and sweets which are highly recommended among KLites. Dining in is a comfortable air-conditioned experience to be shared with friends and family. Gulab jamun and the milky halva are the most famous sweets here so don’t forget to pack some home too.

Another India-based restaurant chain, this purely vegetarian restaurant is famous for their thosai and thali meals. They are also really famous for their sweets, especially their kulfi (Indian churned ice cream) and gulab jamuns.

Being one of the more upscale Indian restaurants promising authentic Indian cuisine, they don’t disappoint in their sweets either. The Jokeshahi is one of the sweets that is rare to find in KL but you can get it here. This is basically Mini gulab jamun which is the reduced milk dumplings swimming in a pool of sugary milk reduction instead of sugar syrup. Another dessert that’s pretty famous here is their Mango Kulfi enriched with dried fruits and fresh mango puree.
