Up to 24 genting hiking trails available this September – you can now hike in the cool breezy air in Genting Highlands!

Good news for hikers and adventurous people!
Genting is set to open 24 Hiking Trails by September 2023! All trails were discovered and walked by Lim Goh Tong himself. He discovered these paths and now Tan Sri Lim Kok Tong (his son) would like to give back to nature with this initiative.

Not only can you enjoy walking among the trees on these Genting hiking trails, you might also spot various species like gibbons, mountain goats and pitcher plants! Worth-noting that the pitcher plants of Genting Highlands are a totally protected species found on the land belonging to Genting Malaysia Berhad. It’s one you can’t miss when it opens!

Here’s what we know so far:
Currently only 2 guided-only Genting trails are available and open to the public
As for now, there are only 2 paved trails open.
These paved trails are created with the elderly and wheelchair bound individuals in mind so that they may enjoy nature as well, suitable for slow walks for everyone.

Awana Trail and Clearwater Way are the nature trails available at Resorts World Awana at present. They will also introduce Heritage Trail in April, Memorial Trail in September and Dragon Back Trail in January 2024. So keep a lookout for that!
Activities to do at Genting Hiking Trails
You can also spot a Rose garden and there will also be a lavender and sunflower gardening in the future! Bird watching area is also available. You can also plant a special Bekak Aglaia species at Awana Bio Park. It’s to educate on conservation and biodiversity of our forests – a precious natural resource for future generations.
All vehicles used on the routes will be EVs, eg: electrical buggies. Future is possible for buggies to reach the beginning of the hiking trail.

Do note that all trails must be guided by Awana/Genting staff. No trespassing allowed. *The Mossy Forest is closed to public as it is on private land.

They’ve also spent RM2 million to prevent landslides as they created verges to prevent landslides, planting kumquat trees, and strengthening the land. There’s also a landslide team, when it rains they are immediately on standby all the time.
